Yarra devastation

As I reported here on Sunday morning after the bushfires, I was due to visit the badly affected Yarra Valley that day. Because of the terrible death toll, and because of potential danger, I suppose, the roads in to the valley were closed but, amazingly, Wine Australia, the body which had organised my itinerary, managed to stage my visit almost exactly as planned – with the help of a friendly helicopter pilot. Typical Austrialian resilience and can-do attitude.

The photograph here was taken by Tom Carson at his vineyard. All his family are fine and he is giving thanks for that. Now...
