"For some ten years now, the wines of Chateau Grand-Puy Lacoste have achieved the highest level in quality" (Cocks & Feret)

"A classic Pauillac at a very high level of quality" (Clive Coates MW)

This is an extended tasting of what many have called our finest tasting to date (in Jan 2012).

We are excited to launch an extended re-run of our vertical tasting on the fine wines of the 5th Growth Chateau Grand-Puy Lacoste. This estate has a long history of consistently making excellent wine and although a 5th Growth it is regarded as a Super-Second (just behind the 1st Growths in quality) "Chateau GPL is an estate which has for many years been consistently outperforming its classification" (Berry Brothers & Rudd). The estate covers 90 hectares of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot and the style of Chateau GPL really embodies the classic style of Pauillac combining the marvellous cigar box perfume with rich blackcurrant and cassis fruit and velvety power which is the epitome of top class Pauillac at its very best.
