This collection of Latours was served to those who very generously bought tickets to last Friday’s Red Nose Dinner at Berry Bros which, with its auction and all Berry Bros’ other activities, raised the amazing total of £143,472 for Wine Relief 2009. Frédéric Engerer very kindly supplied these wines, all in magnum except for the double magnums of 1973 and 1971 and the impériale (eight bottle size) of 1964, direct from the cellars of the château, so we were able to taste these vintages in the best possible combination...
