On a particularly hot weekend in early June about two dozen of us assembled at Ch Figeac on the western fringe of St-Émilion to taste about three dozen vintages of this great wine over three meals.
The event was organised by Florian and Katharina Wolf, daughter of Carlo Wolf, founder of the upmarket wine company Wein Art based on the Attersee in Austria. Katharina at one point worked in the cellars at Figeac so has a particularly soft spot for the wines, the estate, and the Manoncourt family who own it.
