I try to go to Majestic’s biannual wine tastings for wine writers as often as possible. Not because the range changes that much, but simply because so many of my friends ask me for recommendations specifically from Majestic. This is the UK’s most convenient wine merchant, with an ever-changing roster of national discounts, presumably underwritten by that particular country’s generic promotional body, with a decent enough range aimed at the British middle-class wine drinker, and with all-important parking outside most of its many branches all over the country.
