Opus One – 2005 back to the beginning

Opus One, the ambitious Napa Valley Bordeaux blend project co-owned by the Rothschilds of Mouton and Constellation (since the giant took over the Robert Mondavi winery), is particularly well funded and so is more energetic than most of its peers in exposing its wines to the likes of me. Here are my notes on my most recent look at a vertical of this famous California red – not perhaps as acute as they might have been since they were taken on the morning after the DRC extravaganza described here.
