In September 2022, after years of lobbying, Gigondas received the official go-ahead to produce white wines under the appellation Gigondas. This is exciting for producers as the Clairette-dominant wines of the appellation show great potential. Unfortunately, it is only from 2023 vintage that they can officially be labelled as such. So 2022 remains a vintage of only reds.
