We are delighted to offer another wine tasting course at the Goethe-Institut this summer. The course will be open to anybody who is interested in German wines and will be held in English, so knowledge of the German language will not be required – but could of course be of advantage.
Get to know Germany as a wine-growing country while sipping delicious Riesling, Scheurebe and Spätburgunder. Discover Germany's wine regions and what makes them distinctive, learn about the agricultural, historical and economic importance of German viticulture, get to grips with German labelling and learn how versatile and varied the German wine landscape is.We'll look at German grape varities, the regions' different climates, soils and winemaking styles. German labelling, quality designations and terminology get a good look-in and regional pecularities will be highlighted: Why you drink a "Schoppen" in Palatinate and a "Viertele" in Württemberg, why Hechtklösschen go so well with Riesling and what happens when you visit a "Straußwirtschaft" or "Kerwe".
Join us on a tour of Germany in a wine glass. Price includes ISO tasting glasses.
You can enrol for this course by telephone, e-mail, post or in person. Please contact our Language Office.
