Bonarda

Italian variety or, more accurately, three different varieties by the same name. Most common is the Lombardy version which is attractively juicy and the same as Croatina. Some of the second is blended with Nebbiolo in Piemonte. Argentina's Bonarda, which is known as Charbono in California, is very widely planted and makes fruity wine for early drinking.
