Morio-Muskat

German Silvaner x Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) crossing has not a single Muscat gene yet manages to taste almost obscenely Muscat-like with its heady, often flabby grapiness. Varietal Morio-Muskat can easily be overpowering, but the variety was once widely used by German bottlers to add a 'Germanic' note to an otherwise neutral blend.
