Carboy Petite Pearl 2018 Grand Valley

16 +

Grown at around 4,700 ft/1,430 m elevation. A cold-hardy hybrid developed by Minnesota-based breeder Tom Plocher.
Earthy and herbal aromas of fresh-picked tomato leaf, lightly charred bark and fresh-picked cherries and dark plums fill the nose. The nose carries into the palate where a mouth-watering and pleasant mid palate rushes forth with notes of fresh plum, a hint of prune and the lightest sprinkle of cocoa. There is plenty of acidity here but it is in good balance giving a lifted wine offering tension and a lot of length. This is a good showing from Colorado. (ECB)
