Living Roots, Session Red 2019 Finger Lakes

16.5

A blend of hybrids and vinifera designed to make a lower-alcohol, easier-drinking red wine. Includes the cultivars Geneva Red fermented with the skins of Pinot Gris and Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Regent and Petite Pearl. Aged in older barrels.
A beautiful bright ruby colour in the glass. The wine opens with aromas of mixed blossoms, crushed red berries and the slightest hint of resinous forest. The palate is delicious, light, fresh and intriguing with light, chalky tannin and a ton of length. There is a nice mouth-watering quality to this wine and it is a pleasure to drink. Will do well alongside a range of foods and is a good easy-sipping option while cooking or picnicking. This can handle a slight chill but doesn’t require one. Recommended. (ECB)
