Julian Leidy

Julian, assistant editor, joined JancisRobinson.com as our intern in 2022 and has managed our annual wine writing competition ever since. He reads voraciously about wine, has worked in wine retail and wine service, obtained the WSET Level 3 with Distinction and plans to set his sights on the Diploma soon. Currently working on a doctorate in medieval history at Oxford, he is also the captain of the Oxford blind-tasting team, which he led to victory in the 2026 Oxbridge varsity blind-tasting competition (where he also won the award for highest-scoring taster). He is particularly interested in the wines of Sicily, Campania and the northern Rhône, and he is an ardent lover of rosé.
