I have already written in depth about the 2015 vintage in Montalcino, a year that producers throughout Italy are very excited about. But, being by nature obstinate, and after having analysed several vintage reports and tasted embryonic 2015 wines from cask last year, I was yet to be completely convinced. I put the general excitement about 2015 down to the traumatic experience of the previous, very cool, rainy and protracted 2014 vintage in large parts of Italy.
