Georgia – the tasting notes

The main wine regions are Kakheti, Kartli, Imereti and Racha-Lechkumi, as shown in the map below, but about 80% of Georgia's wine production is in Kakheti.
As well as these broader regions, there are more specific appellations that stipulate vineyard area and variety. These are named after the village at the centre of the appellation.
