I did not get to taste as many wines from the Pfalz at the late-April Weinbörse in Mainz as I would have wanted, but even with Jancis’s help (see her notes on Mosel, Nahe and Rheinhessen Rieslings), it was impossible to get through all 1,500 wines in two days. We simply didn’t have time in Mainz to assess any wines from Franken, Baden and Württemberg, although I hope to be able to make up for this failure over the coming months. Our picture shows just some of the Pfalz and Baden wines being poured in Mainz this year.
