Every year, Spanish wine writer José Peñîn and his team taste more than 8,000 wines to produce their annual wine guide, the Guia Peñín. For the second year running, I went to Madrid to taste all the wines which gained 94 points or more out of 100. While last year was a bit of scrum, as described here, this year I tasted in complete luxury, seated at my laptop in the VIP lounge of Real Madrid's fine modern Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (pictured), only occasionally having to venture out and make sure the door to the stands was shut...
