Last Wednesday, 20 June, hail storms in the Middle Mosel caused severe damage in some of the region's vineyards. Worst hit were the towns and villages of Lieser, Kuers, Andel, Mülheim, Maring-Noviand, Veldenz, Zeltingen-Rachtig, and Kinheim.
