Nyetimber, producers of my wine of the week a month ago, took all of the major prizes at this year's UK Vineyards Association Competition in an unprecedented clean sweep.
- Gore Brown Trophy – best wine overall
- Vintners Trophy – best sparkling wine
- Wine Guild Trophy – best wine not from current vintage
1996 Classic Cuvée (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier) - Dudley Quirk Memorial Trophy – best large-volume wine (Gold Medal).
This level of success has not been matched by any other vineyard and was last achieved by Nyetimber with its 1994 vintage. This follows on from successes in the International Wine and Spirit Competition and Chardonnay du Monde.
