Oregon and Washington in London

Last March the leading Pacific Northwest wine-producing states Oregon and Washington jointly showed off their wines at a generic tasting in London. The two states are of course extremely different in virtually every way, and certainly as wine producers. We try to keep you up to speed with developments in them, as witness Elaine's recent report on Willamette Valley Riesling, for instance, and my account of a blind tasting of Washington reds with some of their famous international rivals, but it's difficult from a base in the UK where neither Oregon nor Washington wines have a massive presence.
