Domaine Georges Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée is a domaine reawakened. For about 20 years up to 2010 it was run by a senior lady who sold off most of the produce from its enviably mature holdings to Jadot and Drouhin.
Then with the 2010 vintage she, almost inexplicably, handed over the winemaking to her 18-year-old grandson Maxime Cheurlin. He had been brought up in Champagne where his sister is still based. Champagne Noëllat is based in the Aube.
But he must have shown an interest in burgundy and in making it in particular. As well...
