The two most important Italian associations for 'natural wine' producers, Vini Veri and VinNatur, may well soon experience competition from within their own ranks. In a round-robin sent to producers who have preivously exhibited with either association, the new initiative, calling itself Vini Naturali a Vinitaly but without identifying the actual people behind it, breaks the biggest taboo imaginable. It suggests that producers from both Vini Veri and VinNatur should exhibit at Vinitaly. A suggestion which, for many hardliners within both associations, comes close to heresy.
