Frédéric Engerer, who has been under fire for asking more for Latour (65 euros) than the 60 euros already announced by Lafite and expected from the other first growths, has protested that in fact his first tranche, of fewer than 7000 cases, represents the great bulk of production of Ch Latour 2002 – which is very much less, not much more than half, of total production of Ch Lafite.
