The news from the world of Austrian wines last October was the creation of a tenth DAC. Schilcherland is an appellation for rosé wines made in western Styria, in the deep south of Austria (shown in light green on this World Atlas of Wine map of the country's wine regions), from the Blauer Wildbacher grape variety.
