It's been a while since either Nick or I have had a holiday. I know you won't believe this, but all summer long in the Languedoc I was hard at work - honest! Two days in San Sebastian last February is the only evidence of a proper break I can find in my 2005 diary. So we very much hope to spend next week visiting the sites of Ancient Egypt with our youngest. Nick's doctor assures him it will be very good for him (so long as we are all fiendishly scrupulous about what we eat and drink). So it's therapy, not vacation.
As usual when travelling, I cannot be sure about online connections, so I'm afraid I cannot promise full service next week. There should be something new and meaty on the site every day next week but I may well not be able to respond to postings on your turn with anything like the usual frequency. I hope you will forgive me. You'll doubtless be jealous of my chance to explore Egyptian wines in depth but you'll just have to make do with my second hand account of them.
