Following Alessio's car in the blazing sunlight, in stark contrast to the aquamarine sea, we drove up to Capo Milazzo, a narrow tongue of land jutting into the sea immediately east of Milazzo. We halted at an 18th-century villa which once belonged to Barone Giuseppe Lucifero di San Nicolo. In 1956 it was bequeathed by his widow, the Baronessa Maria Lucifero, to the commune of Milazzo.
