Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc has undergone a recent facelift, as the bottle shots above illustrate, starting with the 2000 vintage far left (under cork!), then the 2012, 2019 and the newly released 2022. Even though it's what's inside that counts, there has been lengthy discussion of this new branding online, with many bewailing what they perceive to be a more commercially mainstream look [there was much criticism of it when I was in Marlborough recently – JR].
It's testament to the power of the brand that opinion is so strong...
