Vinexpo – lots of expo but not so much vin

10 apr: Having just returned from many hours travelling in and around Bordeaux, I must add my fury at Bordeaux's continued traffic problems. I spend most of my time in London where Mayor Ken Livingstone is engaged in a constant battle against the motor car, but driving in London is a doddle compared with trying to get around Bordeaux. A tram system, supposedly the reason there were difficulties before, is now (occasionally) running, but there are all manner of additional hazards. Traffic moves along the famous old quaysides at a snail's pace, no matter what time or day or night...
