Unknown Producer

Producer in Burgundy, France

Note from the editor:

When we have no way of knowing the actual source/producer of a wine for a given tasting note, we enter ‘Unknown Producer’. This is usually either because a) it’s a supermarket bottling made from the cheapest wine possible bought in bulk or b) it’s an ancient bottle with an illegible label. It might also be from the days when an importer would bottle wine and put their own name on it rather than the name of the producer. In any of these cases, you might see this producer, ‘Unknown Producer’.
