Adega Regional de Colares, Chão Rijo 2020 Vinho Regional Lisboa
15.5
60% Malvasia, 40% mix of Galego Dourado, Jampal and Fernão Pires, harvested 3 October. Two hours’ skin contact and 16 days’ fermentation (no malo) then aged for eight months in stainless steel. Bottled June 2021. RS <1.5 g/l, TA 6.9 g/l, pH 3.34, SO2 total 92 mg/l, SO2 free 12 mg/l.
Light, fresh but fairly neutral on the nose. Lots of acidity and no excess of fruit character. Interesting grapes but it doesn’t really translate into an interesting wine IMHO. Pretty astringent finish.
