Police in Northallerton have issued an appeal to restaurateurs, hoteliers and wine merchants following the theft of £60,000 worth of fine wine from a house in the area.
Between 6pm on Saturday 31 May and 11am the following day, thieves broke into a rural residential property near Northallerton. After gaining access to the cellar, they stole wine which included the following:

Ornellaia 1997.
Due to the quality of the wine, officers believe it is likely that it will be disposed of through specialist markets and are appealing to wine merchants, hoteliers and restaurateurs to be on their guard if they are offered any of these wines for sale and to contact police immediately.
