Cartographer Alessandro Masnaghetti, famous for his detailed maps of Italian wine regions, especially Barolo and Barbaresco, and (this man gets around) Napa Valley and the Médoc, has always wanted to move from two to three dimensions. In his books on Barolo (2011) and Barbaresco (2016), every cru, or single vineyard, is drawn in a such a way that it seems to pop up from the page.
