A very high quality vintage with particularly good freshness in the white wines. According to Tobal Morrhal, Wine Sociey buyer for South American wines, it was ‘the best vintage for a decade’. Starting in Limari and Elqui in the north, well balanced whites, some overripeness in Merlot and Cabernet but well-ripened Carmenère and Syrah. Moving south, Aconcagua produced particularly good Cabernet and Syrah. In Casablanca and Leyda/San Antonio, an earlier and smaller than average harvest.
