Michael Schmidt presents the first of several reports planned for this site on Germany's excellent 2009 vintage. Below he presents tasting notes on nearly 200 Rieslings, mainly but not exclusively in fruity style from Mosel and Nahe, tasted in Mainz under the auspices of the VDP, celebrating their centenary this year.
The world's largest trade fair for top-quality German wines, the Prädikat wine-growers' 37th annual VDP Weinbörse, took place on 25 and 26 Apr 2010, in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. Some 3,000 trade visitors...
