We don't often see our engaging Spanish specialist  Ferran Centelles in the UK, which is why we are thrilled to be able to offer you a chance to discover some great Spanish finds with him at the Quality Chop House in Clerkenwell on the early evening of Tuesday 13 October. There is room for a maximum of 12 tasters, and tasters are entitled to a discount of 10% on their bill or free corkage if they eat next door on the night.

These are the wines he is planning for his intimate tasting of top Spanish wines. As one Purple Pages member commented on our forum, 'I can't find a tasting as interesting as this on Spanish wine and I live in Barcelona! Jealous isn't the word. I hope everyone going enjoys – some excellent wines there.'

Equipo Navazos, La Bota 35 Fino Macharnudo Alto (Valdespino) NV Sherry
Rafael Palacios, As Sortes Godello 2014 Valdeorras
Marti Fabra, Masia Carreras 2012 Empordà
Suertes del Marqués, Solana 2013 Valle de la Orotava, Tenerife
Zarate Loureiro 2012 Rías Baixas
Nin-Ortiz, Planetes 2012 Priorat
Campo Viejo 1966 Rioja
Vega Sicilia Unico, Ribera del Duero, a top vintage from the 1990s

As usual, £79 a ticket.

We also have two tickets left for a very special tasting and lunch on Hallowe'en, Saturday 31 October: an all-morning tasting of about 30 great sweet Loire Chenin Blancs from the famous 1989 and 1990 vintages, to be followed by lunch at the new but already Michelin-starred Portland restaurant in central London. These wines, now celebrating their quarter-century, have been assembled by Simon Taylor of Stone, Vine & Sun – not for professional purposes but out of sheer enthusiasm. We'll be tasting them in suitable flights during the morning and will then presumably fall on our feast of a lunch, with other suitable wines. This has to be a steal at £119 a head.
