One of wine's most celebrated qualities is as a liquid snapshot of a particular place at a particular time. No other product is so dependant on the circumstances of its creation, for better or for worse.

Because of this, typicality is something to be treasured. If wine is unique in its ability to articulate its origins, then we can agree that such individuality must be cherished and protected.
