Book before the end of the year if you want to get a discount on the 2010 Masters of Wine Symposium.

Back in August in Something for the weekend Jancis previewed the next MW Symposium, to be held in Bordeaux, 24-27 Jun 2010.

This is a reminder that the early-bird discounted rate expires at the end of Dec. If you book before then, the rate is €745 + VAT, saving €150 on the full price. (Tickets for MWs are currently €545 + VAT but will go up to € 695 from 1 Jan 2010.)

Some highlights of the programme include:

Who serves the wine consumer best: families or corporations? (Speakers including Alessia Antinori, Eduardo Chadwick, Margareth Henriques, and Christian Seely)

Passing the torch from one generation to another (Speakers including Jean-Claude and Olivier Berrouet; Jean-Bernard and Jean-Philippe Delmas; and Miguel Torres and Miguel Torres Jr)

Modern legends: fame, fortune and lessons to be learnt (Speakers including Paul Draper, Peter Gago and Alvaro Palacios)

Jancis will be there and taking part in a debate about the role of MWs in the wine industry. For (slightly) more information and an email link to find out more or book, go to Bordeaux 2010 – Forging links. Page 2 of this flier gives further details of speakers and subjects.

See Shocks for the Masters of Wine in Napa for one report from the last Symposium in 2006 (and click on the tag at the bottom of that article to find the many related reports).
