Price wars – Argentine Malbecs including 'the world's highest'

As outlined already with reference to this week's wine of the week, Britain's big rival supermarkets Tesco and Sainsbury's are currently slugging it out over wine with big reductions across the board from each. Tesco wins the battle by taking 20 per cent off all French and Australian wines (including champagne) until 7 October. Sainsbury's offer is a bit more modest but until the end of September they have slashed between a pound and £1.50 off many popular lines.
