Despite spending more than three weeks in Europe recently I managed only one vineyard visit, squeezed in en route to Heathrow from London: Hundred Hills in Oxfordshire. I was keen to visit not only because this producer is much garlanded, but also because they feature in our upcoming anniversary celebration tasting. The eight sparkling wines I tasted from their range are comfortably among England’s best, with the flagship cask-aged rosé de saignée deliciously different to the mainstream.
