World's biggest wine fair – a report

In response to a thread in our Members' forum started by Purple Pager Gianpaolo Paglia lamenting the apparent lack of interest for Vinitaly on this site, I feel obliged to put the record straight. I have been attending this fair since 1999, but never felt that huge discoveries could be made. What it does allow is to virtually travel the length of the peninsula and visit a great many producers at their stand to taste new vintages and get reacquainted in only a couple of days, something you could never do in real life.
