World's greatest ampelographer looks to Asia
Wine writer, Savoie specialist and purple pager Wink Lorch reports on the inaugural meeting of the Centre d’Ampélographie Alpine Pierre Galet (the Pierre Galet Centre for Alpine Ampelogpraphy), at which Dr José Vouillamoz revealed the genetic relationship between Syrah and Viognier, first published here, and describes her meeting with world-famous ampelographer Pierre Galet.
