With three months to go before my dissertation is due, I am locked in battle with certain problems that threaten to derail my chances. Many of my fellow sufferers are experiencing similar crises, but the more specific mine get, the less I can discuss them here. Because I am known to the examiners only by an incognito candidate number, anything that might betray my topic must remain unsaid, I’m afraid.
