Pago is a Spanish word that might cause confusion for wine consumers. It has many different meanings. According to the Real Academia Española de la Lengua (a Spanish publication that might be compared to the Oxford English Dictionary) it is really ambiguous and ranges from a district of particular land for vines and olives, to a small town or village, a place where a person has settled, or a region.
