Bordeaux Label announces weekend dates in April and June 2007 for Women in Wine, the wine course in Bordeaux created especially for British women.

Wendy, along with a number of women châteaux owners whom the students meet over the weekend, teaches everything that the British woman wine-lover needs to know to enjoy Bordeaux wines to the full. The engaging and hands-on lessons include how to taste wine, how to match wine with food when entertaining at home and how to enjoy Bordeaux with chocolate.
Away from the classroom, students can soak up the Bordeaux atmosphere shopping in the city centre, bustling through the busy Latresne farmers market (ahead of a private demonstration lunch) and enjoying the culture of the medieval city of Saint Emilion.
After all the learning and sightseeing, students can digest the very best of what Bordeaux has to offer – delectable food and first-class world-famous wine. The Women in Wine group will be the guests of Château La Lagune’s owner Caroline Frey; Château Malartic Lagravière’s owner/winemaker Severine Bonnie; and Château Rauzan Gassies’s owner, Anne-Françoise Quié.

The CIVB’s Ecole du Vin Manager, Annick Martinez comments:
“Allowing women to feel more confident when buying Bordeaux wines off the shelf in the supermarket or when ordering from a restaurant wine list are among our objectives – this is a fun way of achieving that goal.”
The weekend begins early afternoon Friday and ends late afternoon Sunday allowing flexibility for flights.
The cost is 855 euros per person (sharing a twin room, based on a group of 20 participants) and includes:
- 2 nights in a shared twin room in a 2* city centre hotel with breakfast,
- A wine specialist host for the duration of the weekend,
- Tailored wine course at CIVB,
- Private cooking demonstration with lunch,
- Meals as per programme, wines included,
- Air conditioned bus,
- Guided visit to Saint Emilion
