Turbulent times for the Gambero Rosso guide

The annual Gambero Rosso guide Italian Wines has just announced this year’s list of its Tre Bicchiere (three glass) wines, not long after Carlo Petrini, the charismatic founder of the Slow Food movement which has published this extremely successful book since its inception, announced that he felt this popular annual guide had become too commercial and he wanted to replace it with a more wholesome guide in line with the principles on which Slow Food is based – a guide to biodynamic wine producers perhaps.
