In the good old days, I used to lunch. When I was working on the wine trade magazine Wine & Spirit, I had a decent lunch everyday, a habit that persisted long into the 1980s when lunching seemed an integral part of being an author, a journalist and a tv presenter. What happened? I can’t even blame the heavy demands of this website as I seem to have lost the habit of lunching while hunched over the first edition of The Oxford Companion to Wine in the early 1990s.
