Årets vinsmagning of Denmark are organising what they're calling The Wine Tasting of the Year on Friday 11 Sep at Sølyst, The Royal Danish Shooting Company's base (pictured) just north of Copenhagen. I'm looking forward to this immersion in a country I've been to only twice and then very briefly.

The following wines will be tasted at this fine wine dinner with charity auction:

Ch Pétrus 1961 Pomerol

Ch Pavie 2000 St-Emilion

Ch Léoville-Las Cases 1982 St-Julien

Ch Pichon Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande 1982 Pauillac

Ch Latour 1982 Pauillac

Ch Montrose 1990 St-Estèphe

Ch Margaux 2000 Margaux

Domaine du Pegau, Cuvée da Capo 2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Ch Lafite 2003 Pauillac

Ch Latour 2003 Pauillac

Pingus, Dominio de Pingus 2004 Ribera del Duero

Taylor Vintage 1992 Port

+ 'special surprises'

Christian Aarø Mortensen, anointed Best Sommelier of Scandinavia and who will represent Denmark at the European Championship and the World Championship, will be sommelier for the evening.

A charity auction of donated wines will take place during the dinner, which has been carefully chosen to complement the wines.
