It will be fascinating to see what sort of prices are fetched by the super-starry lots in two major fine wine sales to be held in Hong Kong this month. The first is to be held on Saturday 15 Nov (the same day as the Hospices de Beaune sale of 2008 burgundy, to be previewed soon on this site) at Hong Kong’s Shangri-La hotel by American auctioneers Acker Merrall and Condit’s Asian outpost. The second, like the Hospices sale, is to be conducted by Christie’s, their first sale in Asia since 2001, and takes place exactly two weeks later...
