Horses play an increasingly important part in Burgundian viticulture today. I met this one and his minder exiting from the horse box below one morning above Vosne. I asked the man whether the horse was working for a particular vigneron. 'Domaine de la Romanée-Conti', I was told. I should have known from the cross and location.
