Comic thanks

• 1 min read

Wine Relief began in 1999 and so far the initiative has raised a staggering £2.7 million to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people.  Recently £1,000 was donated on behalf of the 10 readers who gave the most thought provoking answers in an online survey – this money will be used to change the lives of people in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

You may remember (see here) that we sent a total of £1,000 recently to Wine Relief, the wine-related fundraising arm of the giant charity Comic Relief, in the name of those who so kindly answered our recent online survey.  Here's their response just in:

Comic Relief would like to say a BIG thank you to followers of Jancisrobinson.com for their continued and generous support of Wine Relief.

One UK project is working hard to make sure that older people aren’t isolated in their communities – £100 could allow their luncheon club to provide 33 hot meals, giving older people an opportunity to socialise and feel less lonely.

At a project in Ethiopia, £1,000 could ensure that 10 children living in grinding poverty can get breakfast for a whole year – this may be the only meal they eat all day.  It could also cover their school expenses, giving them a chance to escape poverty in the future.

Without your help this simply wouldn’t be possible, so thanks again for your wonderful support.  And here’s a toast to everyone who's played a part in making Wine Relief such a tremendous success!
